Latest Updates

We have now fixed the programme for 18/19 and delighted to be able to include an additional concert this year.

Season opens on Saturday 29th September with the Scots singing quartet Scozzesi that wowed Lanark last year, followed by Moishe's Bagel on 24th October, in the Biggar Little Festival, with a mix of Klezmer, jazz and Latin music, the Pomegranate Piano Trio on 14th November and Maxwell String Quartet with Anna Hashimoto making up the clarinet quintet on 7th December.

After Christmas, 17th January sees the Navarra String Quartet, Sunday afternoon, 10th February, is the BBC Young Musician winner, saxophonist Jess Gillam, with pianist Zeynep OzsucaSarah Beth Briggs returns on 8th March with her wonderful piano mastery and we end the season on 25th March with the A4 Brass Quartet, winners of the Tunnell prize.

Brochures will be produced in the summer and we look forward to seeing you all for another great season.   Your season ticket also gives you access to  concerts in Lanark and Peebles for half price - well worth the money.

Subscription income from members is vital to the welfare of the Biggar Music Club, for without it, it would be difficult to make the necessary planning decisions and contract commitments for each season which usually have to be made a whole year in advance.

At present, the membership fee of £60 provides free entry to all the concerts for the whole season, a cost of £8.50 per concert. This is amazingly good value when compared to what you would have to pay to enjoy live performances by the same artists or ensembles in Edinburgh or Glasgow (or even London's Wigmore Hall) and without the cost and inconvenience of having to get there...
