Antonine Trio

Steven Faughey, baritone,

Sue Baxendale, french horn,

Derek Clark, piano

Steven Faughey was born in the North East of England and studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) with Bill McCue and Nielson Taylor, graduating in 1990.

He has been a regular member of the Chorus of Scottish Opera and has also appeared with the D’Oyly Carte. Steven has sung roles in The Magic Flute, La Bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly and Il Barbiere di Siviglia.

Sue Baxendale studied Music at the University of Birmingham, before gaining a postgraduate diploma in performance from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. She freelanced on both Horn and Wagner Tuba in England, before moving to Scotland in 1996 to become Principal Horn with the orchestra of Scottish Opera. Sue has worked with many of the UK’s finest orchestras.

Pianist Derek Clark, from Glasgow, is an Honours graduate of the RSAMD and the University of Durham. He has recently retired as Head of Music at Scottish Opera, after 26 years, where he conducted more than 30 operas for the company.
