A return visit by Sarah Beth Briggs, an 'artist of extraordinary magnetism', a leading recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician. A long-standing pupil of the late Denis Matthews, Sarah is popular with audiences and critics for her perfomances and for her engaging and informative introductions to recital programmes.
Her professional career was launched at the age of eleven, when she became the then youngest-ever finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year. Four years later, she gained international recognition as joint winner of the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg.
Sarah balances her solo career with numerous chamber music engagements with many noted soloists. Her recording of Hans Gal and Shostakovich Trios with the newly-formed Briggs Piano Trio was released in August 2018. With many recordings, her first concerto disc on the AVIE label (a Gramophone Critics' Choice in 2016) features the world premiere of Hans Gal's Piano Concerto coupled with Mozart's Concerto K482 with the Royal Northern Sinfonia.

…she holds her own with many of the illustrious names on disc…a thrillingly exultant close…a notable tribute to three cornerstones of the classical Viennese repertoire.
